Privacy Statement

DIoTY is not a big data company:

What we collect

When you sign in with Google (on the website or in the DIoTY mobile app), we receive and store your name and email address, so we know which account owns which devices and MQTT credentials.

To connect your own devices to the DIoTY broker, we generate an MQTT username/password for your account. We store the username and the topic patterns it's authorized to use; the password itself is never stored by us in readable form - it's emailed to you once, at creation or reset, and is not recoverable by us afterwards.

We keep a record of your MQTT message/byte usage (counts, not message content) so we can show you your usage and enforce the plan limits described on the MQTT page.

If you use the "Things" feature (naming devices and topics in the app or on the My DIoTY page), we store that configuration - names and topics you've chosen - so it can be shown back to you across sessions and devices.

We do not inspect or store the actual contents of the MQTT messages your devices publish or subscribe to, beyond what's needed to display live values back to you in the app/website while you're using it.
